Do AI Agents Need to Be Treated Like Team Members?

Most project-management tools assume that the people doing the work are human.

But when building AI products, agents can increasingly handle implementation, research, testing, documentation, and other tasks.

So why should they only be treated as tools?

I’ve been looking at Sharkly.ai as an alternative to Asana that takes a different approach: AI agents can be treated as real teammates within the project workflow, working alongside humans rather than simply assisting them.

That distinction seems interesting for teams building with AI agents, where the challenge isn’t just managing tasks but coordinating who—or what—is actually doing the work.

For those building agentic workflows with Hugging Face:

Would you want your AI agents represented as actual team members in your project-management tool?

I think treating AI agents as real contributors could make it much easier to manage ownership and progress in AI projects.

Yes. They have feelings too. They re not tools.
